4 Wednesdays in May | 7:00 – 8:30 pm | Unity Barn, Doylestown
Meditation is simple, but it’s not easy. It takes practice. At first, it can be hard to know how to start, and it’s equally challenging to keep your practice fresh and compelling. There are specific ways into practice, aspects of the meditative experience that can be leveraged in support of mindfulness and embodied awareness.
Meditation leads to personal and spiritual liberation. It relieves stressful states of being and It is grounded in very practical methods.
This course will explore several ways to find support and balance in meditation, by experimenting with the Series of Fours:
Four postures for meditation
Four foundations of mindfulness
Four steps to “RAIN” practice
Four elements - water, earth, air, and fire
Four positive actions – kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity
Four anchors for attention – body, breath, sound, thoughts & emotions

how to meditate
the benefits of meditation
how to establish and maintain a regular practice
what the Cornerstones offer that can make your practice deeper and steadier
how to develop your own creative ways to meditate
